A pithy lecture on how the Italian Renaissance emerged from the ashes of the long and devastating thirteenth century – and a powerful parable for the opportunities embedded in the cultural decadence of our own day.
The lecture was delivered at Ralston College's "Renewal and Renaissance" symposium, a panel of leading thinkers, artists, and writers. Other speakers included journalist and cultural critic Douglas Murray, composer Samuel Andreyev, and classicst David Butterfield.
